You receive the complete code on purchase. You can audit it, have it audited by the contractor of your choice, and modify it for your internal needs.

Since the data stays on your server, you are its sole controller. The vendor never has access to it, and therefore has nothing to subcontract.
Hivekan runs on PHP 8 with the SQLite extension and an Apache server. No containers to orchestrate, no database to administer, no build chain. It installs anywhere those three are present.
A company server, a NAS, a dedicated machine at the back of the server room. Reachable from your teams' workstations, unreachable from outside — unless you allow it, for instance through your VPN for remote work. No Internet access is required, neither to install it nor to use it.

No, and we would rather say so plainly. Hivekan is source-available software under a commercial licence: you receive the code, and you may read it, audit it and modify it for your internal use. What you may not do is redistribute or resell it.
Yes, without restriction for your internal needs, and the changes you write are yours. Just note that support does not cover faults introduced by your own modifications.
That is the right question to ask a small vendor. Two answers: you already hold the source code, so nothing stops. And the contract provides that, should the business cease permanently, your licence automatically converts to the MIT open-source licence.
